My daisies are huge this year...as tall as me and with the 100 degree days we are having they are drooping and falling over. I need to trim where they are falling over on other plants. Can I feed these to my chickens? I do not use chemicals in my garden.

Also I have a plant/weed that I'm trying to get out of my flower beds. Asiatic Dayflower, Blue Dayflower Commelina communis http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/653/ I have not found anything stating it is toxic. Don't want to put it in my compost pile...have discovered I spread it further doing that!

Also I will be sending canna rhizomes to some folks and will be cutting the stalk and leaves off...can I offer these to the chickens? I have read in Asia people eat the leaves.

Thanks!

Well better late than never, I just gave my chickens dayflowers, they loved it, I read that you can eat it without cooking, unlike lamb's quarter due to its oxalic acid content, which they also ate but now I'm not sure if I should give it to them.
