jumpy.gif hi @hillbillyreefer
Wonderful weather we've been having lately eh?

Hi all.

I'm in S.On i need to drastically reduce my flock... i was diagnosed with COPD and i simply cannot care for them anymore.. i have some help currently but this will not work long term.

Unfortunately, my flock now is mainly drakes after a HORRIBLE year of preds they have left me with few females...

I don't want them just going to anyone, these are nice birds and years of my work... I do know i should be able to get this breathing crud somewhat under control but i have no help! i cannot get outside in the cold and the dirt and dust... i can't breathe.

I don't know what to do.. i don't want to do random kijiji ads. advice?

Hi all! Lac-Humqui QC here. 5 hours North East of Quebec City. 1 hour to the New Brunswick border. My goal is to bring heritage birds to our region. Nothing but Red sexlink and ?White chickens. I think they may be leg horns. That is the only two varieties you can get at the coop in Amqui every June. You should see the crowds on pick up day.

I'm sorry to hear about your difficulties. What breeds do you have? Maybe someone on the list of this link would be interested?

Oh also check if there are any 4-H Clubs in the area that may want a nice project.

Hey everyone!:frow I've got a question/request.

I'm familiar with the products that are available for mites/lice in Manitoba:
Permethrin (Ectiban)
Dusting Powder by Domvet (Carbaryl)
Tetrachlorvinphos

I'm familiar with some in Saskatchewan. I "believe" it's the same as Manitoba.

I know Permethrin is unavailable to the producer in Ontario. A person has to have a pesticide licence to buy/apply this product. Other than that I don't know.

I was wondering if everyone across the provinces could help with compiling a list of what products are available in each province and what isn't available. It would be great to have a list on hand when new producers ask. Hopefully this can be handy for everyone. :)
How about some good ol' DE? I found a Canadian site but haven't ordered yet.

Hi everyone! I just joined BYC this week and was sent over to this thread, thank god. Everyone is so helpful here, it's great!

So I'm from Mid-Western QC and I'm looking to start up my coop next year but I'm having a hell of a time finding the breeds I want which are Easter Egger, Olive Egger and Ameraucana chicks (yes, I want a rainbow basket!) :wee Sexed preferred but straight-run is good, too since those breeds are hard to sex at such a young age! If I go straight run, I'll probably end up looking for Orpies and Austras around May.

So, if anyone on this thread hatches their own eggs and is willing to ship via post office, that would be awesome. Oh.. and also if you have e-transfer that would be even better, too :)
Hi JoPoKa. Any luck finding what you need yet? Emily at True North has Ameraucanas. She is a BYC member under TruNorth. I am getting hatching eggs from them this Spring. Looks like a top quality operation. I know they are far away but I have not had any luck finding a reputable breeder of heritage chickens in Quebec. Good luck in your endeavors!
