Charity- animals for 3rd world countries?

I have contributed to Heifer International for many years. My sister (who has now passed) started back when the only offerings were actual heifers, or quarter-shares in a heifer. I started with chicks, of course, then moved up to ducklings and geese.

Heifer international is a wonderful organization. When you donate a heifer, it's actually a pregnant heifer, so the recipient gets an eventual milk producer and another up and coming beefer that they can then share with their neighbors in the village. It's pretty cool. You can donate anything from a water buffalo or camel to a chicken or guinea pig.

Very good point WoW.

I went back to their website and read that they stick with the recipients, preparation and follow through, Also they keep setting new goals for the family can continue to advance. The families are also required to raise new animals and give them away to help others.

Good for you, Imp ----

That's the true 'Spirit of Christmas' ---

We've used Heifer International many times -- it's our favorite way to celebrate the birth of a new baby in our extended family -- :)

You'll be surprised how good it feels to do this!
