I have a young Jersey Giant chick who for a week now has had a eye injury that I've been caring for. It's gotten better with ointment, but it's not 100% yet. It started out swollen around the eye and watery, the swelling has gone down but she still is watery and bubbly. I've been putting Terramycin on it for a week now(give or take a few days). There are similar posts, but no one has given a very straightforward answer that I've seen.

Is it not working and should I do something else?
How long does it take to heal?
Should I take her to a vet?

Pictures are day 1 vs now.

Have you ever had respiratory illness within your flock?

Looks like the chick may have respiratory illness like Mycoplasma.
A week treating an eye give or take may not be enough. Flush the eye really well with saline, press out any pus, then apply your ointment. Do this 2-3 times a day.
If it doesn't improve after another week of daily care, then consider giving an antibiotic to see if that gets her over this.

Do you see any other scabs on her or other chicks? Do you have a lot of mosquitoes out that could cause fowl pox? Are you putting the ointment into the eye as well as on the scab? Do it twice a day, and keep it clean.
