Chick Pics for New 2 and Our Chart

Pics
The one in the middle is cameo bs.

Thanks Q8, but I don't know which one you are referring to.

The light brown chick next to the white chick in the second image.

Oh, that green zip-tie on its leg means it is from my Purple pen, so that one has to be a Purple BS. Purples and Cameos can be really hard to tell apart, if it weren't for the zips I would be lost.

I sent the pics to Brad and asked what he thought they were, he said BS Pied hen, and the other one a cock.

I knew that, I want to know what COLOR. That black face just doesn't belong on a BS at this age, well I haven't seen it on any before... that is why I ask you guys with more experience.

Question for the hive mind; will a Purple BS cock bred to a Purple BS hen produce any Purple cocks? I have three and do not know where they came from other than the Purple pen.

Yes, they should produce purple cocks, usually when he said its a black shoulder he means its an india blue black shoulder, most people will only refer to india blue bs birds with a black shoulder only.

Your use of English is better than most people whose English is their first language. It just seems too confusing to 'assume' something is a given. Perhaps the IB is silent?

You are totally correct in what he meant, he responded that as you stated, IB is assumed and the color is used when different than IB.

So he has affirmed your assessment that the one chick is IBBS Pied, even with the blackening black face and says it is a hen.

He also affirms that the IBBSSP still is, but changed his mind that it is now a hen. He said if the 'mantel' darkens in the next few weeks it could still be a male. Is the 'mantel' the area between the shoulders?

I am starting to see a few other chicks from the same pens looking more SP than this one and I am a bit unsure how to categorize them. I understand the percentage rules, but not the nuance difference between Loud Pied and Silver Pied. Putting BS SP aside, is the Silver Back the key ingredient to SP or does that exist on a Loud Pied too?
