Chick with nice pumpkins

These are a white skinned variety of pumpkns that I am trying to nurse through Forida heat. The sunflower is supposed to get 14 feet tall but it only made it to about 11 feet. Next time I am going to apply a higher rate of nitrogen.

I want those sunflowers! We bought some and I think it got a bad case of 'I don't want to be pretty so I'm going to do that whole dampening off scenario!'

Interesting you should say that. I have had severe problems with damping off in the past. I solved the problem by sterlizing potting soil in the oven and planting the seeds in little depressions in the native soill filled with sterlized potting soil.

i got some mini sunflowers a while ago. they all died.. my husband puts pineapple top in some soil and it grows! i'm just not ment for pretty flowers i guess..
