Here's part of what I have been studying. it's very exciting. this article was written in 2008 . it's a good foundation to start. there's so much more been done since then.

Yes Allosaurus ,
there aren't enough Standardbred birds to go around . many people don't care.
they just want eggs and pets and eye candy. that's okay too . my position is there must be Standardbred poultry or there will not be a Wellspring of quality for the every day person.
Davies expressed it so well in his slim book," The Theory And Practice Of Breeding To Type".
The utility bteeder strives for production virtues. In the end, he needs to come back to the fancy breeder for the hallmarks of the breed.
Two sides of the same coin .if we only had the fancy breeder then perhaps our production virtues would suffer. if we only had the production breeder, then the Hallmarks that distinguish breeds would suffer. we need both in an equal balance.

Karen

The trick is to find a simple and inexpensive way for everyday people to raise their chicks in such a way that they overcome their commonplace origin and their birds achieve their maximum genetic potential.

It's complicated. I'm working on it .maybe I'll have an answer for everybody in a year-and-a-half. It took me 4 years to write the one for puppies. if I can do this in two and a half, I'll be happy.

Hi Cat,
it's just that it's not put together yet.
when I was doing the protocol for puppies everybody wanted to know what it was about so I tried posting part of it on the net and they laughed at me . I didn't like that but they stopped laughing when their puppies stopped dying .
so you know when it's ready I'll put it out there and thanks for the inquiry.
Best,
KAREN
