Beautiful birds. I'll be getting some heritage barred rocks to improve the barring on my Project Wheaten Crele Orpingtons next year.
Love your Red Cuckoo Orpingtons.
I have 41 chickens right now, will be culling two soon, an old 4yr old RIR, & a solid colored cockerel that my Project produced.

Hope everything goes well for your project.:)
Thanks! You’ll love the barred rocks they’re very sweet! I have about 200 chickens and 2 geese (hoping to get some guinea keets) I love old hens lol I have a flock of about 80 all ages 8 months-5 years and my older gals keep everyone in check still laying the occasional eggs in the warmer months!

I've had Barred Rocks once, but they weren't the heritage type, & were very finicky.
My girls don't care about the weather, we've been getting 10-14 eggs a day now, So Many Eggs.:thwe have another 2 dozen to bring home. I keep my birds at my grandpa's house since he lives in farm country, & has more space.

My project Wheaten Crele as chicks 1 day old chicks.

Mine have been laying a lot too! They never slowed down. I’ve sold 47 dozen in 2 weeks!! Not that i’m complaining they’ve paid for their feed. Which means I can get more hens;)

I'm not sure how many dozens I've gotten in total, all I know it's alot.

I tried to get pictures of my Serama trio but they’re so skittish. I got a new rooster last night so I moved my cockerel over to my layer flock. Here’s a picture of my pullet and cockerel. I also want to focus on my dark Brahmas! I looooove my Brahmas.
