Chicken killing Fox!!!! HELP!!

You could rig your electric fence with a switch. It does not have to be dangerous. You turn it on when you close up the coop at night. You turn it off when you come to let them out. Or however you like. You could use a light sensor switch and be real fancy.

You'd be better off to put the cage in the hot sun with no shade or water and let the animal die of heatstroke than relocating it. Quicker and more humane. Put's less animals at risk. You can think you are doing the right thing, but science says otherwise.

WHAT......
Not only is that incredibly crule, but highly illegal. Animal cruelty is not taken lightly.

Hello. First post and this topic is one of interest.

I have done the following legal in my area things to deal with foxes and predators.

Harden my coop.

Run a electric fence around my perimeter fence. I use switches to power down sections that I want off during the day (interior fence, places i work). This was relatively cheap, ordered the paramak charger on amazon.

Foxes are legal to trap here, their fur is great for tying flies. Cage and dog proof traps work well. Generally you don't see them during the day but shooting them with turkey shot or other means safe in your area works. I prefer 22lr so as not to disturb anyone. The same trap lines that work for fox work for racoons and other chicken killers.

To euthanize an animal humanely the law allows shooting and cervical dislocation. A head shot is instantly fatal and humane.

Other methods of non selective targeting are legal but raise ethical problems.

Lost of debates though.
I had a three year Fox problem. Found and destroyed the Den. I now have a Coyote problem. Once a predator leaves more move in. Get an electric poultry fence and only let the birds out in that. Definitely lock them up for awhile because the Fox will keep coming back for free meals.
