Chicken or Duck?

Alright, I went ahead and candled. Wasn't sure if it was an internal pip or not? It had some weird shadowing on the sides, but I don't normally candle chicks after lockdown, or ducks at all, so maybe this is normal? I didn't get a pic, but I found some on the Internet that looked similar...The air cell had a tiny triangle coming from the side, and leading from that was something that kind of looked like a duck beak.

Does this sound like an internal pip?

Tiny triangle sounds like maybe an internal pip - calls have very short beaks, so it could be that it didn't pip very far into the air cell.

OK, so I should still make the safety hole before I go to bed tonight?

It's hard to say without being able to see the egg in person. Is it peeping at you? This is the 25th day, so if it was a Call it would make sense that it internally pipped now.

If you're seeing a shadow in the air cell and it's peeping at you, I would say it's okay to do, but trust your judgement since you're the one who can see it in person

Pinhole sized safety hole won't hurt it if it hasn't internal pipped, j/s...

I went with my gut and make a tiny safety hole with a screw. It took a while to get through that shell! Then I put it back in the incubator. We'll see how it looks tomorrow. Of course, I'm starting to doubt myself, but I always do when it comes to these things.
