Chicken pecking herself

Hi everyone,

I have 6 buff orphingtons that I received full grown. The smallest of the bunch had a bare spot underneath one of her wings. We've been monitoring her and she is not getting harassed by others she is doing this to herself and now is worse. What can I do to stop this? I don't believe it's mites. I have not observed this behavior from any one else!! Help!!!

If it’s not mites or lice, is she getting ready to be broody? (They sometime pluck their feathers under their belly to have a skin to egg contact for hatching) if not Is she lacking protein?
