I have 3 pips!

This means I am no longer incubator impaired, because the 3 are EXACTLY 21 days after I set them, so I must have FINALLY got it right!

There are 5 more eggs in this batch, 3 of which are Splash Araucanas! All 8 of these eggs came from Lanae Cash of Cash's Blue Eggs in California, She is very helpful and great to do business with! Her E.E.s have polish in them and they are adorable! That is what has pipped, so I am excited, but I will be REALLY excited if Araucanas hatch!

Well I am definitely hatching more keets this year, even if I don't keep them. When I sold the first batch of keets (I hatched 40!) they went within hours and even my 12 week old guineas were snatched up very quickly with a ton of people asking if I'd have more. Lots of ticks here, so lots of people want guineas. They are fun to hatch (seems they popped out much easier than chickens) and if I can find buyers, always a good thing! I won't make any money, but I get them during the cute keet stage and can hand them off to eat ticks elsewhere.

That is fantastic! Such a relief when things go right. I would love to see a crested EE!!! Also, take pics of those Araucanas when they hatch...they amuse me.

I would gladly take some of those lav guineas. If you hatch some, put me on the list!

No problem! As soon as I can find eggs (maybe from my own guineas, they aren't far away!) I'll start em up. I wasn't happy with the whites - I hatched the pearls, the lavs and the weird brown one but I had bought the white ones from cackle. They were runty and scruffy looking compared to my own hatches. So I'll try to hatch lav/pearl/pied this time. But most guineas aren't laying yet so it will be a while.

I am in no rush. Are you going to Lovinstock?

I just typed this on another thread, but it bears repeating...It has been snowing all day today...turned to rain a little while ago. While the kids and I were in the kitchen snackin' on fudge there was a HUGE flash of light outside. Out of habit, I started counting...got to #8 and SURE ENOUGH IT THUNDERED!!! It's February for Pete's sake! In Central NY of all places we should not be getting thunderstorms.

We had that thunder snow on Wednesday. Scary thing. Right now it's snowing to beat the band. They called for perhaps a dusting. We are way over the 2 inch mark already and the radar shows plenty more to come. Weather man- a job you can be 100% wrong 100% of the time and still get a pay cheque. LOL
