I fed huge rattle snakes to my girls ( and boys )...the rattler no longer had a head of course, but they enjoyed some fresh meat!

So is that how it happens, first you get the chickens and then you start considering other birds. I cant beleive, I cant beleive.........we all know we really can but I was actually looking at the DUCKS at the feed store. Their sweet little faces and well gee I do have a nice big pond, why not get ducks.

Actually I do need to do more research on ducks

but I was actually looking at them..............something I thought I'd never do

Two more little broody babe's - the one on the left has such an interesting color pattern. It reminds me of a SLP ( Silver Laced Polish ) chick, without the topknot and the muffs.

CUTE!!!

Meagan: My 5 isa/JG eggs hatched today. They are still drying off in the bator right now. I have 4 dark colored ones and 1 white hopefully splash one. Are your dark ones blue or black??? I can't tell yet because they are not fluffed up yet. I will know more in the morning when they are dried off and then I can get some pics too.
big_smile.png
I hatched out wheaten and blue and black marans today too and they are all soooo cute.

Excellent Chandra!!! WTG!

First batch I hatched 5 Blue/3 Splash (the 9th chick that died was blue). The second batch I hatched 4 Splash/1 Blue. I think it is possible for the Isa hen to have left over Blue JG semen from a few weeks prior. Prolific lil buggar! The great thing is if you decide to breed them later on, the blue x splash will create more blue/splash. Take pics. My lil chicks are enormous compared to some of the Ameraucanas that hatched at the same time.

Oh, and Happy Easter everybody. It is also my DD's b-day today and tomorrow is my son's b-day! I don't have it in me to make cakes for them...what with all this candy in the house. I need a healthy substitute!
