Hi

My birds all seem to be camera shy as well:/
I have managed to get some decent pics of all except Marjorie: I seem only to be able to take pictures of her well-endowed bottom as she runs away!!!

Note to self: When using treats to get better shots, put treats in the left hand so the right hand is free for the camera

Yes, you must have the camera in ready mode and then wait for the cuteness/moment to happen.

Another tip... Get down low so you're shooting at their level. You'll get better shots that way. And for the technically endowed... use a long lens and shoot with a shallow depth of field so you can blur out some of that clutter in the background.

Bird photography is my other hobby. http://www.sonnys.ca/slideshow/

peachick, that one of the peafowl flying is so funny! I laughed, it's just in a funny position in midair!

Me too ! Nothin' but butts!

I got the bright idea one day to lay out a line of scratch, so I could get a pic of them all together.
Layed out the scratch, camera ready, called the girls. Got a real nice pic of a line of butts.
