Are these the only breeds there are to choose from?

I see this breed is not on your poll, but I'll say it anyway:
If you are looking for a friendly chicken, our Prairie Bluebell Eggers are the sweetest and best breed we have! We have two of them, they are absolutely the best, they are super calm when picked up, and they're always flying on our shoulders just to hang out!
Their eggs are a gorgeous blue, too:

😁 I'm jealous of your PBEs! I have one and she is the oddest girl in the bunch. very aloof with me and her flock mates, her best noise is an odd squeaky sound, she's smart though.

Oh and she has refused to start laying before the days started growing rapidly shorter so she's going to make me wait until next spring for my first blue egg :th
🤣

I am going to see if they come into Tractor Supply. They always do around May when I am getting them shipped to me. I will 100% be getting them. 🥰
I love those blue eggs!! 🥰🥰

:lau We all have that one oddball lol!

If you are unhappy with TSC in your area, maybe the problem is with Hoover's since that is where they get the chicks. I actually buy from a different store because I know they get their chicks from Townline Hatchery.

What is your goal? Egg production, personality, good looking, egg color, cold hardy, etc.? I just placed my order with Meyer last week. I wish I could order with you to get cheaper shipping. I wanted to order 15 chicks to have them shipped safer. And I offered to give out 9 free chicks with the $35 shipping cost I could save, nobody was interested in. So I paid $50 shipping for my 6 chicks. I ordered Swedish flower, Australorp, Buckeye, and Silkies. Silkies are just pets, and the other three types are for winter egg laying with good personality and health.
Love, love love Australorps. Nice egg layers, friendly, good dispositions, and gorgeous!

I didn't vote. I have silver laced Wyandottes. They are cranky, unfriendly (not aggressive, just don't give a damn), Hostile to other chickens, and to my eye, gorgeous. They lay really consistently. I would not recommend these prima donnas to anyone, unless, like me, you think they are too gorgeous to live without.
My Wyandottes are not cranky but they are really flighty. I believe it depends on the bird - from bird to bird. They are like people - we each have our own personalities.
They are really beautiful though - but I think the Golden Laced Wyandottes are prettier!
