On the bright side again, the sleepy silkie I was very worried about has been up and running around like a crazy kid! Eating and drinking a lot too. Must have just been cold and took longer to warm up.

Sad, but these things happen... maybe your brother can hold chicks only while sitting on the floor and being supervised!! He probably feels awful and will be super careful from now on.

They are all doing great! They are noisier today for sure. Very very quiet yesterday. I woke up to little peeps this morning.

Congrats on your new babies! They are so entertaining to watch aren't they? Better than television any day.

One of my favorite chick watching times is when I give them scrambled egg. It just makes me laugh so hard. A few smart ones will stand at the dish quietly stuffing their little faces, all the while the others are peeping loudly and running around the brooder like madmen with egg flapping out of their little beaks while others chase them around trying to grab it.

I highly recommend it. It is sure to put a smile on anyone's face.
