The hawks here are terrible. I don’t see them very often but they hide in the worst places and get a lot closer to my unsuspecting chickens then I’d like. Thankfully I’ve always caught them in time but probably one of these days my luck is going to run out :(
That sucks! Glad they haven’t gotten one though.

Have y’all ever had an owl attack during the day? I’m kind of worried about letting the flock out since he lives so close.
chickens have been in a run here because of bird flu. Not sure barn owls would hunt adult normal size chickens, thats what we have near me, I need to look it up

Some white tailed deer browsing through the front yard the other day around dusk, 2 does and 2 fawns. They enjoy the acorns falling off the live oaks right now. (Sorry it's not a better shot, took the picture through a window)

We have a doe and fawn that come around in the spring every year. They like the muberries.

I haven't kept up with everyone's posts, sorry!
We don't get owls around here very much, otherwise I just don't notice. I've also never had issue with birds of prey with my chickens. I've even ranged my silkies before and never had a loss.
As much as I've lost quite a few chickens to foxes I actually have to deal with very few predators, thankfully.

In other chicken news it seems I'll be getting more silkies, included Showgirls which I have been trying to get for ages!
Just actually have to build a place for them to live 😅
