My three "sussex", I truly have no idea what they are now 😅
One has dark markings, one has very faint markings, and the last one is very pale.

Why do y'all raise quail? Just curious, see lots of people here that raise them. Adorable little birds!

We have bobwhites that live in our area, hear them calling all summer (rarely see tho!). Makes me wonder if I raised quail, would mine try to join the locals or vice versa? We have wild turkeys also.

we original got them because the males are a lot quieter then male chickens, so we could have supply of meat and wouldn’t need to buy more when they get old. they didn’t end up really working for meat for us but we do like the eggs, any meat ones go to the animals

You can’t free range quail so you don’t need to worry about them leaving while free ranging, I don’t know if they would join them if they escaped

I think mine fall under pets. No good for eggs, not really worth it for meat. They're uncommon in my area so I shouldn't have trouble selling them as decorative aviary birds.
