Cluckawalla Valley has moved! TAKE THE QUIZ, PG 23!

Oh yeah, if you don't want to show me your house/barn, I'll just keep your Brinsea instead.

Kidding of course!

Oh no you are going to help unpack! But you can still use the Brinsea!

The guys made good progress today on the barn. The walls are going up!

Here is the coop area from the right of the three vertical spacer boards.

Look at the cute little trailer we found in the weeds. New wood and new tires and it is good to go!

Here is my temporary coop with the electric fencing. Not quite done yet. DH is going to rake out the weeds to expose the dirt and we need to finish the fence.

We already have a problem with the neighbor on the ten acres behind us. He has been down to our property complaining to our contractor about me "bringing in chickens." He says "they better be hens and anyway they will all be killed by wild animals so it doesn't matter." yada, yada, yada. We had already been warned about these people by all the other neighbors. One guy said if one of our T-posts is 1/2 inch off center they will lodge a complaint. He said everyone hates them. Mind you this property has been neglected for 20 years and abandoned for more than two years. For two years it had blue tarps in place of a roof! I have sunk $25,000 into the land alone and I have owned it one freakin' week! You'd think the cranky old geezers would appreciate a little boost in their property values. My contractor says he's the kind of old guy who gets out of bed wondering what he is going to complain about today. Give me a break! Anyway, I am zoned FARMING, have a signed "right to farm" from the county and can have up to 100 chickens and roosters before needing a special permit.

I plan to ignore these people. They are not going to ruin this for us! Oh Kelly, I'll get some pictures of the inside up soon. I have to use Firefox to upload pictures because for some reason I can't copy and paste in BYC using Safari. Here's a teaser, my living room with a cute woodstove and a funky rock wall! You can see the old barn through the window. That's where my chickens will be! (not the red barn, that's belongs to the neighbor across the road)

Whether urban or rural there always seems to be some neighbour that has to be a pain!!
BUT you have a gorgeous home and lovely land - Congratulations!!

I can take care of that! There are one of these blue toilets in each of the upstairs bathrooms!

And I have to keep them! They are wall mount toilets and it costs hundreds to replace them because they have a special pressure assist device...ew.

So, for now, I'll be rockin' blue toilets in my bathrooms! I have tried to embrace the blue, which is a color I detest indoors, by buying every chocolate brown/teal blue towel in every WalMart in northern California. Oh, and I changed the oak seats for white of course. See, I made it all better, huh?

I like the new place. invest in privacy fence, right along that crazy neighbors side lol. sorry about the blue pottys, but hey think of it this way, they work and you are not forced to find new and inventive places to go around the farm while things get remodeled/repaired. dont ask me how I know this.

Hey, those blue toilets are "retro".

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I love the wall of windows inside. So pretty. The land will be even more gorgeous in the spring when it all turns green.

As for the neighbor

. Let him complain, he can't do a darn thing about it! I love being zoned "farming".

But I do not see how your temporary fencing is keeping those Icelandics in.
