Quote: A very adorable rooster!!!
Lalala. I can't hear you! No roo, no roo, no roo. Boo hobo hoo. :-(
we havea mixed flock and the last time we did a hatch and had a panty roo he was just a frustrated little man because the big girls would had one of him. It was sad. Pluss. I know we have two other roo in thus bach and I am suspecting another will be as well so out of 9 birds I have a4 roos to decide on. :-(
That is our problem, space. I tried having more than one roo before and they didn't work out too well. We are currently roo-less as our last one passed a couple of weeks ago so we do want to keep one, however, we have primarly LF hens and my last experience with a banty roo with them, they just didn't respect him and would not give it up to him which made him a very frustrated young man. We'll just see how this works out. We know there are 2 other roos and 1 more possible for a total of 4 so someone (or two) will have to go.Having a roo means you can make more.![]()

I, personally, keep the roo(s) that I think are going to give me the prettiest babies, and then rehome the rest. I don't have enough pens for very many roosters.

While at a show yesterday, I checked out the Cochins. They were so big compared to mine! I asked the guy if they were bantam versions, and he said "yes". Mine (just got her) is just a tiny bit bigger than a Serama. She's 2 yrs old! Are they supposed to be that tiny, or the size of a Silkie? Thanks!
