Cochin Thread!!!

I just bought a 9 month old Golden Lace Rooster and while admiring him when I got him home, I noticed something. A little more background: Last November (I think, I didn't write it down and my memory is terrible.), I was given a Black Cochin Rooster, he is about 1 year old now. Below are pictures of birds similar to mine. Notice the combs on these birds. This is what my 2 roosters combs look like. I got these pictures off the internet by looking up their breed. Why would their combs be so different since they are both the same breed?

So today my frizzle cochin bantam decided to go broody. I gave her 5 bantam eggs she happily accepted. If she stays and I really think she will how many eggs can she. Sit on?

My broody non frizzle can hold 6. BUT a frizzle can only handle 4-5 as there feather dont close around the eggs like a non frizzles feathers would...

The bottom picture looks like a hen to me, not a rooster. But i could be wrong.

I don't see anything wrong with their combs.... what do you mean?

Perfect , that's about what I have stored. Funny thing is her eggs are in incubator so I'm putting my mille Fluer D'uccle under her. A

That is good to know. I am waiting for my frizzle to go broody....I'm surprised she hasn't yet.
my frizzle just showed signs today but I don't think I noticed earlier signs. Only because one of my standard hens went broody Monday . It will happen, I was not expecting this at all! She just came off clutch had a big poop ate and is dust bathing. I think she started a day or two ago.

My Phoenix has 5 one week old chicks and I have two others on eggs right now. I haven't had the frizzle very long but I thought she would go broody before the others.

Question regarding leg banding feathered legged birds. I don't want to damage their feathering, but it would be nice to band for reference. Thoughts..ideas? I have seen tiny zip ties for chicks with a watchful eye to growth. I would like to keep them identified as I want birds from different genetic backgrounds for my own breeding.
