I feed protein crumbles and scratch grain daily, alfalfa hay in the colder months and a few times a week I feed treats like warm cornbread, I make 4 pkgs cornbread mix, 6 eggs with shell included, a can of pumpkin pie mix. Served warm ( I heat in the microwave for a minute before I head out, I crumble it up over their feed, they get VERY excited when they know I'm coming! They love it. I also feed canned cat food (very high in protein) as a treat once in a while. I love to spoil them!!

i made my own flock blocks for natural de-worming this fall and the chickens loved it, and it seemed to have worked!

mixed in pumpkin seeds, pumpkin pie filling as the binder to the bread, seed mixture, shredded carrots and garlic to help kill off any worms.

Awesome, can I have the exact recipe ?
Pretty pleeeeezee ????
I have done some in the past for wild birds with lard and peanut butter, millet and seeds...but would love your recipe !

That sounds like a great idea - and better than bread, which they love but it does nothing for them!

They just love it!
Here's my recipe:
4 pkts Betty Crocker corn bread mix
6 - 8 eggs with shells
one lg can pumpkin pie mix
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup of milk or more to mix dry mixture

bake @ 450 for about 40 minutes (or until the top springs back)
When I feed, I cut a big chunk off, microwave for a minute and head out to make some chickens VERY happy!

Is he large fowl or bantam?

I'd like to get a birchen breeding pair or ... barring that at least know what I would have to do in order to get birchen coloring

They are bantams.

I am looking for Black LF Cochin hatching eggs. I want eggs from outstanding quality Cochins. I'd be happy to be put on a waiting list if need be, but will buy now if any are available! Please PM me with any info on where I may find some. We just lost out beloved rooster two days ago and need a replacement but would like to start from a chick. He was an amazing rooster and am looking for the same quality. Let me know what ya got!
