Mary,
Frizzles can be shown, they arent a breed or variety of chicken. It more or less describes the feathers of one breed. Any breed can be a frizzle, and any variety of that breed. This is what my SOP says about frizzles;
Bantam SOP:
Frizzle bantams may be shown in any breed set forth in this Standard and are to be judged for shape, station and color pattern under the breed, type and variety shown on the exhibitor entry blank. (Example: Buff Cochin Frizzle, White Polish Frizzle, Black Wyandotte Frizzle, etc.)
No Frizzle bantam shall compete for awards under the various other breed & bantam varieties. However, a Frizzle bantam may compete in any of the six classes as provided under the rules of the ABA.
All sections of the specimen should conform to the shape description of the breed type under consideration. The plumage color description should conform to the color plumage description of breed and variety involved.
Feathers should be uniformly frizzled throughout the plumage area.
Preference should be given to specimens having well and evenly curled feathers over the entire body, with the exception of the main tails, sickles, primaries, and secondaries, which should curl at their extremities only. The feathers should be long, broad and crisp, each feather with a backward curl, the curl as close, even, and profuse as possible.
APA SOP:
Frizzle bantams may be shown in any breed and variety set forth in this SOP. All sections of thr bird being exhibited must conform to the shape description and the color description of the breed and variety under consideration.
