I contacted the seller about both their listings, and have also reported both listings to eBay. I also sent Cackle a link to the listing using their pic. It's a beautiful Partridge, but how can you post a pic of a bird from a hatchery, and then say your birds aren't hatchery stock? Why can't/won't people just use pics of their own birds???

I checked it out and you are all correct. Does this happen often? Are they like me and need help with technical stuff or are they scam artists? Also noticed it didn't mention if they were AI or not because if these had been their birds I would expect low to no fertility if they were letting nature take its course.

It doesn't happen a lot, but it does happen. Some sellers just have no ethics. There was a different auction for eggs - they used a BYC member's pic - and it had a watermark across the center with her farm name on it!!

He is gorgeous! I hope my little guy looks that good when he grows up! I have either a SL or GL Standard Cochin that is busy trying to make his way out of the shell as I type. Not sure what the heck he did buy he's facing into the small end of the egg - that's even with having spent all his time in the correct position in the bator - hope he makes it! We pipped him out a little bit since he had already started his way out and we didn't want to lose him.

On another note, why in the world would people do something like that when they will get caught? It would ruin their integrity on the Site and in the chicken world one would think or am I wrong?

So it seems like NOBODY around me has Cochins, at all

I've been trying for weeks now to find some locally and can't. Finally broke down and bought an incubator, sigh...

I was wondering maybe if anyone on here would have half a dozen or so hatching eggs for any color of Standard-size cochins that they'd like to sell me?

Or trade for shiny silver jewelry? (I am a metalsmith, I can custom make silver items... need a chicken necklace for yourself or your ladyfriend? A chicken tiara for your show birds? Let me know!) I won't need them for about a week or so, until the incubator gets here. Bonus points if they're eggs from hens known to go broody frequently.
