I have a lavender/self blue I'm thinking of letting go..about 4 weeks old. Also one that looks lavender color with splashes of darker feathers..I guess a splash, but a dark one. About 3 weeks. I'm in VA.
I would try posting this under the breeding and genetics forum to get the best answer. Or just do a search- I remember reading something along those lines just recently when I did a search on gold laced cochins. Hope that helps

that should improve type and then breed the offspring back to your GL to get pattern back, just remember you're going to have to do a LOT of culling
Mandy, isn't the ideal cross a Buff Columbian?.........if you can find one.
Depends on if you are trying to improve the type or the lacing.

exactly, IF you can find one but it would produce double laced also so I'm not sure how that would do when breeding back to get the single lacing on the pullets

If that's the true color of the combs, I would say 2 pullets. If not, the one on the left may be a roo if his comb is more red, but looks like 2 girls to me.
The one on the left does have some color in it, but compared to one of my other cochins it's comb isn't really big. Not sure if I can really go by that or not...
Here's another picture of Polly the one on the left.
