She told me the reason was that the vans and semis get well over 100 degrees in hot weather. I haven't found it anywhere in writing so take it for what it is worth. Probably valid hearsay. If you find out something different please let me know.

mine has a number they call to check whether shipping lives or if its on hold

! Bad enough with eggs, but chicks - oh boy sooo sorry.

They finally showed up a day late. If I didn't go to the Main PO by morning when they would get to the local one they would have been dead. They were so sad looking.
And this was the SECOND time she sent them. The first time they were lost for 2 days and finally showed up and all were dead and starting to decay. That box smelled so bad!

I have had better luck with shipped eggs beleive it or not!

The only four that made it. That picture was takein when I just put them in the brooder and they were SOO thristy.
