Mrs. Fluffy Puffy :
I thought it would be better to post my chick here because cochin/Pekin bantam may grow different rate from other breeds. Can you guess the gender?

Well, my daughter had her first show today. She had so much fun! It was a 4-H show, with lots of fun events. The judge made a lecture of judging the birds and taught as he went explaining placings and what to look for. He was so nice. He was wonderful with the kids who did showmanship also. My daughter took her little Partridge cochin pullet, and earned a 3rd out of 3 bantam cochins. The other two were frizzles, and were both entered in the wrong color catagories, which became a teaching point but didn't affect how he placed them. Turns out our pullets eyes aren't the right color, which I had never noticed, and he said she wasn't round enough. We thought she was perfect! Love being blind and all! My daughter is determined to enter her in the APA show next month. We'll see. Here is a pic of our pretty girl.
Quote:Good for your daughter for hanging in there and wanting to continue to show. Hopefully if she continues to get good judges she will learn something new with each and every show. Best of luck to her!
Quote:hummmmmmmmmmmm...........what color are her eyes?
She's not that bad for a Partridge hen as far as round goes. She won't win against Blacks and Whites, but then nothing does.
Quote:eye look fine to me standard says redish bay
her tails not perfect but partrdge is hard color
I don't know but it sure is a pretty little thing!
