Thanx! I'm pretty sure I have a new home lined up for Jazz already - I think he's going to be part of a Tolbunt project, which I think he'll be great for with the lacing gene he has. I really can't be keeping any extra roos, either, but Calypso has just stolen my heart, and I can't wait to see how he feathers out when he matures! I did send the breeder I got my Golden Laced pair from some pics a few weeks ago to see if she could offer any insight, but she's not very talkative in her emails. She said that white was used several generations back to improve type, and that it could surface every once and awile. But the white in Cochins is recessive, so if/when it does appear, the birds should be solid white I believe, so I don't think that's what is going on with Jazz. And that also wouldn't explain Calypso's coloring. The rest of the chicks I've hatched out of the Golden Laced pair are all Golden Laced, so I'm pretty positive she just had some "left-over" fertility from another roo, even though I waited 3 weeks.​

Bantam Lemon Blue cochins. Some are molting now and look a bit rough in the tail area, there are 2 more hens but they are sitting on eggs and didn't care to have their pic taken...LOL

I have that lovely new trio of Blue Mottleds that I posted awhile back (one of the hens was sneezing a lot, but I think it's just food/dust related, but that's why they're still in the little quarantine hutch during the day - I don't want them foraging the same areas of the yard that my other birds have access to just yet):

So, if I were to breed them would I theoretically get 50% Blue Mottled, 25% Black Mottled, and 25% Splash Mottled chicks?

Oh, and by the way - BlueMottie, I'd love some eggs from you sometime - we'll have to talk!
