we hatched some of swheat's chicks. He's not silkied but he is a sweetie.Only problem I really have is we have no ladies for him so he will have head up my fun cochin pen-mixed color along with my son's frizzle roo.It seems every pen we have has bantam cochins in it now and when you go out my house door there is a bantam cochin...why do they have to be so sweet and love being kids pets so much!

Here's one of our black cochins.. "Peck"
She turned 10 weeks old today..

I love how the greens are starting to come out on her feathers~

I was taking some pictures of my little Columbian cockerels this morning (they hatched in April of this year), and I thought I'd share!

Francis - he's just, finally starting to get some black-streaked saddle feathers, I'm hoping some more pop out!:

Henry and Francis - I think that Henry's too dark, and Francis is under-marked, but I'll leave that to the experts:

These last two pictures weren't re-sizing correctly, so I did them as thumbnails...

Henry with one of his ladies:

...and Francis again - he's my favorite:

One of these days I'll get pictures of all the girls - the boys are prettier and they stand still longer to get their picture taken! And I have one more little cockerel that's 2 or 3 weeks younger than these guys...he looks like he's going to be prettier than both of them too, he's already fluffier than they are - but he's an ornery little thing!

I got this batch as fertile eggs from Lynnrae Troples out of Pennsylvania - 8 eggs of the dozen she sent started developing, and ALL 8 of them hatched!

But, if you want some Columbians that are much better than mine, I suggest you talk to Tom (cochinman2005).
