I have. Funny thing is , it must be her mottleds because the milles above my photos came from the same lady and they have way more foot feathering.

Did you get to meet the chicks parents? With my breeder she offered it right off the bat, she says "a good breeder should always show you the parents, no matter what animal you are buying, it gives you a good idea what you're going to have come a few months"

She showed pics online but don't know if they were the actual parents. I can't find them in or around my area so all my eggs have been shipped so far. I wanted certain colors so I could get my own eggs and not have to deal with PO damage anymore, they are horrible this year!!

I think I have a roo and and pullet here, but just wanting to double check. I had posted these guys when they were younger as I wasn't really sure they were Cochins at first.

How can I breed and get a blue mottled. I've ot black mottled and splash so if i bred those to together and then breed the offspring back to the mottled parents would they become blu mottled or a split 50/ 50? It's the only idea I have because black and splash make blu if i remember right?

mandy (thecochincoop) has a few blue mottled available on her fb page...

blue mottled x black mottled = 50/50 blue/black mottled

if you use a splash with black mottled, you'll get 100% blue, all split mottled. breed them back to each other, you should get 50% mottled, in black blue and splash. (of the mottled, 25% ea black and splash, 50% blue)

OK these guys are a little older now. I want to know what I have, I am thinking alot more roosters than hens. I am still no good at sexing so if I'm wrong Please tell me. I keep trying to figure myself, but I got my other 2 wrong last time so see if I got any better this time.

Well I wrote the lady that sold me the eggs to see if they were mixed cochins and she said they are not mixed but pure cochins and that hers came from luckypickens but that mine do look sparce in foot feathering and maybe slow to feather out, and that hers and luckypickens all have great foot feathering. She also said the 2 Milles do look like a mottled but there are no mottled in that pen! The one picture looks like a blue mottled and she doesn't even have blue mottled, and that Mille coloring goes back to the black mottled so that could be why you could get a black mottled, and All of the chicks that she has hatched from this pen are at least 3 colors so she doesn't know why mine are not.

I also ordered chicks from luckypickens twice and they have more foot feathering. The milles and mottled are 1 month is there any chance they will get thicker feathers or is it just best to start over?
