Miss Lula Bell out for a run. LOL Please excuse her tail not sure what she got into to make it look like that. She likes to hang out in the scrub behind the coop. The DH was going to weed eat it, but I ask him not to I think the birds like to play in it and it gives them fast cover if a hawk comes around. What do y'all think about her? She's about 3.5 mths now.

Hey Folks,

took some pics today, thought i would share some.

White hen, hen has a good beak and eye colour is correct(red bay). The comb and wattles still not full red after her first true moult.

mottled pullet, nice colour in the eyes, beak colour is passable.

black hen, shape is decent This poor thing has hatched chicks for over a year, had most of her feathers ripped out by a predator, and has just gone through a hard moult. You can see that the comb and wattles still havent recovered from the moult and raising so many chicks.

Partridge rooster, missing a point in the comb after a tussle with a dominant hen.

Another angle, his proper tail feathers just coming in, one is loose here. He also has good colour on the chest (nearly full black)

actually i'd say that was a mille fleur or something close. if not mf, call her calico. but there's your start for the mfc. 8) make more like her and start something 'new'. 8)

Thanks both, the picture is a bit misleading, she is a mottled partridge from a cock breeding line. both my partridge are heterozygous for mottling, and out of only two hatched eggs i got this mottled pullet.

Here is some of the patterning on the rest of her.

i agree she will be great for a mille line, once i source a columbian i will use her to create my buff columbians, hopefully getting some with mottling, then go from there.

What colors do you get when you cross a birchen with a black?

Assuming you are crossing a Black ckl with a birchen pullet, then the calculator says black birds in the f1, crossing the f1 will get you some birchen, but you will get gold necked and silver necked, but that is a small percentage, you will get mostly black, and black with leakage.
