Quote: actually she looks like a product of gold laced birds that were, themselves, incompletely laced, thus she's only got part of the required genes. (pattern, melanizing and Columbian are needed to produce proper lacing.)

Thank you both for reply,im absolutly lost with this gene stuff,my mental capacity is about as small as my chickens!! So could I ask if you had this hen, would you breed her? If so what would you breed her with?
Quote: no, I would not breed her. she's missing more than she's got IMO of the laced genetics, that she'd be a backwards step for any program.
keep her as a colorful egg layer or find her a home as such.

Considering you are in Europe, where the gene pool is much richer in poultry, I'd disagree and advse if you want to breed her and try to establish the pattern, go ahead. Outside the US the "rules" for showing are different than in the US and therefore, new colors are being developed all the time. If you want to try, I might suggest posting her to the the-coop,org genetics section and gathering some of their thoughts on her genetics. That board has a wealth of genetics experience and would be a good place to start. FYI the-coop is hosted here in the US but has a solid world-wide membership including the authors/researchers of several genetics efforts include Henk who wrote/maintains the chicken calculator(s).
