Cochin Thread!!!

I was told this was a partrage cochin. But to me other then the feathered legs and toes does not look like the body of my other cotchins. Could it be something else?

Ya I'm thinking it's a dud.... Nice try Meyer!.... But fail.
It's ok I'm still happy with them as far as hatchery quality goes. I have been more then happy with them. They have great costumer service and most of their birds are as close as your going to get from a hatchery. At least that's my opinion. But now every time I see her out in the yard that's what I'll say. Nice try Meyer... Nice try... While shaking my head.... Oh well.

About 2 weeks ago, I got a batch of Partridge Cochin from My pet chicken. Got reamed on shipping, one DOA out of 8, no extras in box. Never again. On the other hand, I don't know where MPC gets them, but the 7 survivors are true to type and excellent coloring. All suffered from pasty butt the first few days, but after I got that cleared up, I'm very happy with them.

MPC normally drop ships from Meyer. Would love to see some pictures of yours!
Shipping is horrible! I tell every one to get together with people and split an order. But then you always have that one person that ends up ordering EEs and when they arrive you can't tell them all apart!
Oh well. We do the best we can. Even if your just want a basket of eggs sometimes it's best to just go with a local breeder. But I will admit I've already got ideas for my next order from them next year. I know I know it's a horrible habit... I'm trying to quit...... Right?

Chicks that are shipped as "day old" will most likely suffer from pasty butt, it's usually a stress related issue.

I've posted about my Pennelipie before but I just wanted to show you guys:) I adore Cochins! And hopefully in the bator I get some more!
