Cochin Thread!!!

Thank you, I think they're all beautiful too! Ruby is a little bit spoiled, because she has the most gentle personality, I had no idea chickens could be so sweet! She's definitely a lap chicken, she loves to snuggle.

Jewel has 2 more beautiful fuzz balls. These two are standing strong and walking well so I am not to concerned like the other chick. When they come out willingly I will get pics. She had 3 eggs left and I took them out and candled them and she has one slow hatcher. I returned the good egg to Jewel and I hope it hatches soon. Poor Jewel needs to get up and be able to move.

Hi everyone I have to cochin chicks one is partridge and one is black. The partridge has a comb and the lobs of skin hanging from her face (sorry forget what they are called) people say they are both pullets but the black one seems to be growing her feathers slower and doesn't have a comb could the partridge be a rooster or is it normal for this to happen. When they where just a day old the black one was smaller then the partridge too.

What do you think if one of them is a rooster I will have to get rid of them right away :/

The skin u are referring to is called a waddle. It's hard for me to tell by the pics if they are pullet (female) or cockerel (male)
If I had to guess based on ur description id say the partridge with the bigger comb is a cockerel and the black a pullet. But a lot of times the pullets feather in faster and u said the black was feathering slower.
Can u post better face (comb) pics?
