I have a blue cochin that just went broody!! I'm going to put some English Bo, Naked neck, cochin and Columbian wyandotte eggs under her. I'm also going to get English golden laced orp, crele orp, Blk aus, and some blk copper marans eggs under her that I'm going to pick up during spring break

Well the good news is the turkey has found a new home and is awaiting pickup/delivery. Bad news is our cochin has lost use of her right eye and will probably never have feathers on her head again. We are giving her a week to see if she shows improvements.

I came home to her hiding in the corner of the coop. It appears our 8 month old turkey decided she was ready to assert herself in the pecking order.

i have a sebright who had a bout with her younger half siblings. now she's in a separate cage with her skull showing. the wound has healed but it will take awhile for the skin to grow back. she probably won't have feathers in that spot anymore either. i'm lucky she's alive. the wound had already scabbed over by the realized she had a wound.

Yeap. Skin torn to the skull, peeled back and a damaged eye. She is still eating and drinking and is hanging out in the kitchen under a 40 watt light. Cleaned out the wounds last night and added some Wonder Dust today. We shall see. I hate it too. She is who i would consider my favorite bird. It's the only reason my wife wouldn't let me put it down and she is now trying to save her.

That's why I always advise people not to keep turkeys with their chickens, I had a pair of toms kill a rooster and my present turkeys will chase and harass the chickens. Turkeys can be really deadly to chickens once they start focusing on them. Hope you chicken heals up, birds can heal from some pretty nasty wounds.
