Why do you want to cross the other varieties with a Buff?

Because those variations are what is available to me to choose from in my area...specifically one state over as she will bring him to me on the 17th.


I do not think she is a standard, if so she is going to be tiny compared to the standards I already have...they were both much larger at that age...but one never knows. She was an extra in a friends order and is supposed to be a bantam so I am hoping for sure that she is...

I just want to find her company...I am not a breeder and they are pets only. But if I decide to incubate some eggs or if she goes broody, I was curious of the best color combinations. I would hate for Hera to have ugly children

definately think thats a standard. she looks pretty young and that is about the size of my grown bantam hens.

Hey! What age did your LF Cochins start laying? My only girl is 19 weeks and I was wondering when she might start. Is it any different for bantam cochins? I have lots of those but they are much younger. Thanks!

At what age and what are the first place do you look for mottling? Isn't it a simple recessive? Wouldn't it be expected in 25% of the offspring of carrier parents?
