I am looking for different color combinations. In Brahma colors are limited, in Cochin the possibilities are so much greater. I love the light Brahmas, however after acquiring 2 Cochin pullets (a black and a blue), my mind has been racing about the crosses I might make between the 2 breeds and the color combos that might be possible. I plan to keep the breeds separate but will use breeding pens when needed. I am a hatching fool...LOL

How about a single combed buff laced Brahma to a golden laced Cochin. (as a project)

There are people working on blue brahmas already, I believe. A guy has a large fowl splash cochin rooster with a peacomb.....crossing to light brahmas, I think.

I have a large fowl blue cochin hen with a peacomb. Haven't decided what to do with her yet. She is in a major molt right now, so maybe by spring will be ready and raring to breed.

I have some of the offspring of the splash cochin x light brahma. ALL are blue with varying amounts of silver and gold leakage. Pretty pretty birds.

I have an online buddy who did RIR x light brahma crosses whom I should be getting test eggs of in the spring...feather legged for both but pullets are white and cockerels are red? Maybe a good cross with a blue to get something lemon-blue, etc?

the pullets look soooo good, when they were setting down in the show cage, the but feathers were almost touching there head!

Hi guys!

I've been super-busy and not online much (midterms

, and registration for spring classes), but I wanted to pop in quick and share a picture of this little Columbian baby that hatched yesterday afternoon! I set 4 eggs just out of curiosity, only 1 developed, and produced this little chick!

I'm 99% sure by its behavior already that it's a little roo.

He's in his own brooder at the moment, but he'll be joining these guys in a few days - the Blue, Blue Mottled, and Black Mottled chicks that hatched last weekend from Frizzledhen's eggs! All 8 eggs that developed hatched.
