Anyone near East TN, I listed 11 bantam cochin hens on the BST section.

I also have 2 young mixed color pullets that are available.

I kept a NICE bantam mottled cochin flock, but may have a single pair of bantam mottled cochins available. both would be approximately 8-9 months old.

Giving all the other roosters away............trying to downsize.

Should have "super broody" LF cochin eggs available next year. Planning on crossing my SUPER BROODY barred cochin hen with my blue cochin rooster...brother to broody splash gals with great egg color. Result should be barred hens that WILL go broody. And male blue barred roosters. Can't beat that.....

Anyways...anywhere near East TN that needs bantam cochins.....PM ME.

My first eggs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I checked the Mille Fleur cochin's coop tonight and - 3 EGGS!!!!!!!!
Two of the pullets were hatched in early June, that makes them 6 mo. old. I wasn't expecting them to begin laying since it is December and they are just 6 mo. old and cochins. (I understand that cochins aren't necessarily "early birds".)

How old should bantam cochins be to tell which ones are keepers? I've got 3 partridge cockerels from Ideal hatchery who are 3-4 months old. I realize these are hatchery birds so probably not the best quality, but I'd like to keep the best one of the 3 to try and get some decent ones going. I can always outcross the offspring to blacks to improve the type

So how long do they take to 'fill out'?
