Cochin Thread!!!

I was at Shawnee on Sat for the APA Nationals. There were some Cochins in the row that were Open Large Breeds and there was one particular rooster there that had a 1 (assuming 1st place). He was an Asiatic Cochin according to the tag and he was Gigantic!
I am looking for breeders now and would love to find some BYC breeders, those are the best kind you know

The color I am interested in is the same as the rooster there, Golden Laced. He was outstanding!
I am ready to buy now but would wait till spring if I "have to",

Hey every one! This is my first cochin and am loving the breed. I was just wondering what standard she/he was. I am not sure if I have a girl or a boy theses pics are a little old not to old tho but the wattles have gotten red, the comb is a little bigger but not by much.

Any Ideas?

If it still has that coloring then it's a partridge hen, if the 'lacing' has faded it's a partridge rooster

Thanks! and wasn't it a great show? I have Araucana's and Serama's (straight feathered) and Black Spanish Turkeys. I am going to "have" to have some of these gorgeous giants, I LOVE them! My husband loves the animals here too but he was particularly interested in the Cochins and he's not that easy to impress

I have the "go ahead" from him.......actually, it was more like "You are going to have to get some of those",

So, I'm looking. I don't get in a hurry and it may be spring before I have some but I'm very patient and I want good quality. I am looking into the Golden Laced and/or the Brown Red (which is still in the works for one breeder). Anyone here that has show quality Standard (huge) Cochins is welcome to contact me by email or PM. I will consider quality over color if it comes to that.
