sorry you are feeling left out. Forums can be tough. If you post, then something more interesting comes up, it's easy to get lost in the shuffle. It happens to all of us. Your pics are small and it's kind of hard to really see what's going on. If you are looking for a critique, post larger photos and in a couple of different positions and be specific about what your goals are and what you'd like for them to be. Another thing is ...day after day, people post their pet cochins and want to show them off. Many whom are on this thread are interested in showing and may not be interested in pet birds.. they are just totally different. I hope that makes sense. They are cute. I've never had a frizzle before so don't know if you can even really tell type with that kind of feathering.
This was a real problem in the d'Uccle thread, many folks are pet owners and the genetics and show topics seemed to alienate them from the discussions. Because of this a genetics thread was started, and folks could get as deep into the breeding and showing end of things as they wanted. There was a rather unkind comment made by one of the genetics geeks and it seemed to shut folks down, but while it was active it was very good and served it's purpose very well. I wonder if it might be helpful to start a thread like that for the Cochins. I know the LF folks started a thread of their own, maybe one for showing and breeding would be in order. I've seen this problem even before howfunkyisurchicken got left out, and I hate for new comers and pet owners to feel snubbed. Just a thought.............
Good insight. I would love to see a dedicated thread specifically about shows, showing, and helping people become involved in breeding to SOP. And one for genetics and breeding.
I sure have made a breeding or two where the results were not what I expected.
