I love this picture of my Buff-Barred cockerel

What a beautiful pic~! He looks like he is a "light barred". Which means that he has "two barring genes" & all his chicks will be barred. If your roo is dark barred he will give you 50 % barred & 50 % solid. I have some lovely cockerels maturing that are light barred. I can't wait to see how they measure up in "type" over the Summer. Thanks for the great pics ~!!!

A better picture will help and can we see her foot feathering . I'm not a big fan of bunny tails which this picture makes her look like.

Guess what? I walk outside to the chicken pen to take pictures of Daffy (white hen) and she is broody! No pictures today.

Some recent pics - my LF Buff pair and a little hen that is too light for breeding Mille Fleurs but is just too pretty to part with. I want to see just what colors and pattern she has when she matures . She had nearly white down when she hatched.

I hatched 6 Self-blue chicks this Spring. They sure have better foot feathering than the foundation hens I started with but I am not at all keen on their feather quality.
