That's so sweet! I have this one little girl that loves to snuggle and have her back rubbed. And the chicks (1 month old) Follow me more than their own mother because I have been giving them corn daily, they just love it!

I wish i had more room for Large Fowl. At my old place last year before I moved I have 1 Really nice pair of blue LF cochins that I miss dearly. They were SQ birds but were older. He died and I sold her and all of the rest of my birds except 3 bantams that were very nice just before I moved.
I have rebuilt one coop and decided i wanted to concentrate on bantams for now.

Welcome!

Love love the cochins. What do you raise for cochins?
I am starting to build a decent flock of Columbians which I hope I will buy more at the upcoming show in Sedalia Mo. I also have a couple silver penciled. These need a lot of work but they are so rare that I really want these in my flock. I have buff and I am hopefully purchasing a pair of mottleds from another BYCer at the Sedalia show.

Hoping to get a critique for my little lady here. I hatched her from eggs purchased on ebay this spring. She just turned 6 months old today and is the only one of my current cochins I am considering keeping since I'd like to concentrate on mottled. I have 6 mottled cochin eggs due to hatch the end of the month from Amy @ West Knoll Farm. Do you think she is worth keeping, and would you consider her pet, breeder or show quality and why? I welcome your advice!

I agree that her tush needs work and her foot feathering is not the greatest but I probably wouldn't kick her out of my flock just yet. Maybe someone else can chime in that is much more experienced than myself.

This is just too cute! I have one hen that actually nips at me until I pick her up then she just loves all over me! It looks like you really spend a lot of time with your birds!

The Blue in the background has a good head and high wings. Not enough Cushion. I can't tell width but I think it is the best bird in these pictures. I see too much ground on these birds from the front/back. Not enough feathering.Second picture is not a show bird. Last bird appears to have a good head but not wide enough or feathered out enough. That is my opinion.

Hey all I was wondering if any of you are going to be at the poultry show at the Sussex fair grounds in NJ Saturday. I'm looking to purchase a few more Cochins this weekend:)
Thanks Nancy
