Our cockerel (4 months old) is bullying all of our pullets (4 months and 3 month) he jumps on top of them and starts pecking at their head, all the other cockerels peck the pullets at nighttime when they're about to roost. We're keeping the bully rooster that jumps on hens in a coop outside, full view of the other chickens. They all free range. How many days should we keep him in the coop, or any other ideas to fix the cockerels behavior? We have 7 wyandotte silkie mixes and 1 silkie. The silkie gets the worst of it.

I separate out those boys. For months sometimes. I would expect bad behaviors through next spring until they start to settle down more.

How many cockerels and pullets do you have?
3 Cockerels, two of which are 4 months old and the other 3 months old. Four pullets that are wyandotte/silkie mix. One full bred silkie pullet. 2 that are four months old and 3 that are 3 months old.

Separate them now...then get rid of 2(or all) as soon as possible.
What are your goals for keeping chickens?
Are these your first chickens?

They are not 'bullying' them, they want to mate them, typical 4mo behavior for males.
Having multiple males is making that worse due to 'competition'.

Oh, and....Welcome to BYC! @BokBokChicky

It's easy to do, (laptop version shown), then it's always there!
