Coffee With Tink

That's the worst part of having any pet :hit

The best dog I ever had was a Westie. Loved that girl! She lived until about 14 yrs old but by then, her eyesight was gone, her hearing was going and she started having seizures that kept getting progressively worse. It was so hard to lose her.

Yes, we can get attached to our pet's, and they are missed when they get old and pass. I took in my dad's old dog that was a mini Schnauzer when he passed, because Richie was old enough that no one else wanted him. My dad was his second master and had taken him in when his first master died. Anyway's, Richie lived to be 18, before thing's started breaking down on him so bad. He had a stroke, and had gone blind also so he could no longer find his bowls of food and water.

I'm sure Richie had a good life with your dad and you!

He love's eating dill pickles and raw carrot's.
When I was a teen,,,, we had a dog (German Shepard) that loved eating pickles. :)
One of my DD's current dogzzzz the one on left, loves raw carrots.
A Norwegian Elk-hound. His cousin ( not really cousins:gig, but are both rescues) on right does not.

My Iditarod Team does not like ether pickles, or raw carrots. They do like cooked carrots from Chicken soup, when I give it to them.

Your Iditarod Team is adorable Cavey! :gig

My chickens organized and are on strike. I think I may have to renegotiate this coming Spring. :old Probably have to wait until then until I see EGGS:hit

It was same last year this time. Some went into light molt now. I will probably see only a few eggs until sometime in February. During winter,,, they get 12 hours of electric light inside Garage loft. It helps some, but not very much. When the days get longer naturally, and they are out in coop and free-range, laying takes off:thumbsup

My girls are right there with yours on strike Cavey.

They aren't 100% finished molting and now are days are shorter. If I'm lucky, I'll get 1 egg a day from the 5 of them. (And even luckier if that 1 egg doesn't freeze before I find it!)

Caveman I didn't know you really had dogs. Wow- great. I used to trim poodles etc. for years before my hands started getting numb- dropped too many clippers and had to replace them. Really loved trimming - very relaxing unless they are trying to grab you by the throat. :( just kidding

Then when my son was born had to sell my floor stand dryer, grooming table, tack box, etc. etc. health insurance didn't kick in right away.

The Chihuahua and Maltese on the patio table are rescues. The bottom one is a Shih-poo that DD got for us from an individual. (not breeder)
DW clips/trims the hair on the Maltese, and Shih poo as needed. Now that winter is about here,,,, they will not get a trim until Spring.
They wear coats and sweaters during winter.
