Days like today, I really wonder "WHY I decided to be a mother". Seriously, OMG, WHAT WAS I THINKING ?

I am done. . .with my rant . . .for now! I need to go soak in the tub for a LOnnnnnnnnng time tonight.

I am drinking my COFFEE at night with the fixings of a white russian in it!

I hear you, Math Ace. Hope you enjoyed your White Russian - you earned it!

Boat looks great, Oesdog! I love the big window in the front like that. What a great view you will have.

Spent the day at the beach yesterday - it was perfect. A manatee swam right up to where everyone was swimming, which was VERY unusual, and very neat. I've never seen one do that in open water - I hope it wasn't sick or something.

Looks like I have ended up with 8 little chicks. Out of 37 eggs. That's a whopping 21% hatch rate. Whoo-hoo..... next time I'll try a few things different. And now my brand new incubator died on me. Maybe it's a sign.....

How about this - -

Ds is 13 and grounded. . . .been grounded and it has now been EXTENDED!

Yesterday, I told Ds- - - -go feed the 3 pens of chicks chick starter.
Then told Ds - - - go water the 2 pens of marans.. .

Ds came back each time and saind "DONE" .. . .

Dh and I go out to check and find
1.) One group of chicks with NO FOOD
2.) BOTH groups of marans without water ( actually water was low -- not close to having been just filled)

Ds at 13 AND currently grounded and totally LIED to us about the assigned tasks. He just doesn't get the BIG PICTURE - - you know the one where you won't get off restriction UNTIL MOMMA is HAPPY!

Not the same as not liking DD's boyfriend. . . .but it sure is frustating. I DON'T play with my animals! Lying is bad enough, but when an animal could DIE because of your lack of care- - - OMG - - -save me from my own children!

Good mor5ning chicken wranglers
and moms!
Math I get the same from my kids also,the12 yo boy will take care of the birds but the 17 yo girl will feed the dogs and half to be told to go out and water them,"after the fact,"will the lazyness ever stop?
The new calf got out of the paddock and the cow was a raisin the dickens. I went ovwer to get the calf and naturally neither of them were happy about me handling the calf.
I tied the calfs feet together"just like they do in the rodeo"all 4, and dragged her, by the feet over to the gate"carried 1/2 way" but at 2 weeks I bet she goes 100#'s and stuggling bawling calf is HARD TO MOVE! The old girl was out and running over to where I and the others where moving the calf "{only so she could be reunited with her mind you}".My daughter kept the mom at bay with a 2x4 while I untied the calf to release her back to momma. It was funny because all the cows followed her and started bawling and I really thought there would be an animal farm uprising at any moment!
Nuff adventure for one day!
