Coffee's ready...

Hi Guys
Hope all is well in the coffee shop???????
I have been a bit busy trying to hatch some eggs but it has not gone the best. The first load came in a terrible state. They were also the wrong colour. Blue but Dorkings were ordered and they are white? Turned out one of the eggs was mush another cracked because it was glued to the packing and another was badly fractured. We waxed it as there seemed to be a live chick inside on day 14 when we candled - however out of the 4 eggs set nothing hatched. When we opened them up there was just "slow cooked scrambled egg inside them all!!!!" So nothing even started to grow.
Now we have just set another batch of 6 eggs. These turned up in the post??? We think they might be the Dorkings as they are white so we will see. So we may get more chickies!

Oes

Morning People,
I hope this finds everyone doing well and keeping busy. Feels like ole man winter made his appearance last night. We had some hard frost. We fired up the ole wood stove to take the chill off. It was getting hard to understand the better half with her chattering......
We put in a 6Kw photovoltaic system and enjoying the results so far. We had to remove some trees for the solar, but not our solar thermal has taken off. When I put the system, I over sized it for the shade ect. Now the shade has been reduced and we are getting close to 80 - 120 gallons of 160+ deg water. The better half is enjoying those screaming hot showers.
A farm down the road (supplies our beef) had a day lily day last weekend. They gave out boxes of day lilies to plant. We plant some along our road frontage. So now there will be a good couple hundred feet corridor of day lilies.
Our little rat is getting married in June. The better half is beside her self....
Enjoy

Hi Y'all
Things starting to get crazy here. The move to Louisville is shaping up. we have had an offer on our house and have made a counter offer. Still not enough but we could live with it. Actually looking at a house across the river in Indiana. Clearing out 40 years of living and over a hundred years of work room clutter is rather daunting. Prayers are needed in both cases.

Hope all is doing well on both sides of the pond and the Mason Dixon line.

@Rngrbill: Sounds like things are moving right along for you. It is funny how much stuff you accumulate over the years. When we moved about 8 years ago, we had a 20 yard dumpster that I through a lot of stuff into never to be seen again. Now we have a "rule", You can't replace something until you get rid of what you are replacing.
Anyways, good luck with your transition and may it be everything you wanted.

Yup!! But replacing hasn't been the problem. It's I need another saw or that was dad's or grandpa's. and it spirals down through the 7 layers of hell. Literally I just carried up my Grandpa's machinist vise (all 300#s of it it seemed.) for the tag sale. next to the scrap yard if it doesn't sell Might even pay for the move.

But doesn't it feel good, seeing that part of the basement wall/floor once again? It's funny, you mentioned your grandfathers vise, I have my grandfathers work bench seat. I am always looking for old hand tools. Sometimes I wonder what the ladies are going to do with all my stuff.
Enjoy the day, feels like spring is back

I have my grandfathers hammer. In my fathers day the handle broke, and he replaced it. A while back the head broke and I replaced it. But it's still my grandfathers hammer.

(disclaimer- not original, but still a good one)

@Gargoyle: I know what you mean. I have a few things from my grandparents and grand in laws, from a a enamel bowl, white with a red line around the top to a hand saw that's about 3' long. I recently "inherent" from my grandparents fishing equipment which I have to go through.

Enjoy the day
Kaj
