They say we were in the minuses but it's not to bad now.

I've been busy setting up for chicks in the basement. It's cold down there but not like outside. I put two lights over the brooders incase one goes out.

Good idea on the double lights on the brooders. Do you have a generator in case of outages. My grandparents and then my parents used to raise chicks with kerosene brooders. Yes, I am that old.

I don't have a generator. I've considered getting one. Of course if the power goes out at night I wouldn't find it in time. One thing about chicks is the make noise if they get cold or hungry.

My SIL's father had an old sears incubator. It needed parts and like a fool I gave it back to him and he tossed it. No one seemed to know how it worked. I couldn't find info on it on line either.

He also had the old big metal brooders.

22 F and no wind - it feels like spring - everything is relative. A friend and I just got done filling feeders at the beagle club. Got the ATV stuck twice, and because of my eye surgery I couldn't help push out. Had to get the tractor the second time to pull the ATV out of a drift. Good news is that's done for the week.

High of 43 today low of -4 tomorrow - that's just not right!

At least I managed to spend 3 + hours outside doing 'light' work. That felt good.

I'm not sure 43 would be good. All the ice melting and all. Damp and humid is not good, but I still can not wait for spring.

The penguins were here today asking for directions.
