Sorry it's just that my other three GC were born in Germany and I never got to see them at this stage.

I did get my first green egg today. I didn't want Ee's when I first got chickens. I think cuz i read they aren't prolific layers. But then I thought of my customers and thought they would like them. Plus some of the Blues I've seen I just need a few birds that can lay those.

well take care everyone til tomorrow. May the Good Lord Keep you.

Morning People,

Fresh coffee this morning. Not that good, but.....

Weather: Upper 80's - low 90's, clear. Woke up to 62, heavy dew.

I might go to the DMV to get a enhanced drivers license. I haven't been abused in a while. Last time I went, they didn't like my birth certificate and soc. ser. card, so I couldn't prove I was a USA citizen. Funny thing, parts of my family where here since the mid 1600's.

The Columbia Co. fair starts tomorrow, so we'll be heading to it this Friday. I am looking forward to a "blooming onion", beer and watching the people go by.

Math Ace: what are you going back to school for (subject)? You are moving right along with your list. You get any good food?

Enjoy the day

Kaj

My babies start school today so the morning wil be consumed with that. Then I have to plant the trees I should have planted last week.

Good morning! On my 2nd cup of coffee and trying to figure out which of my 2 barred rock pullets has turned out to be a roo...not a happy camper, but it looks like a lovely day!

It is hard to see them off but good to get a few hours to yourself! I forget when term starts now I am an old person and have no kids.

- Were having little Jessica this afternoon so am really looking foward to that. A naighbour came over last night and raped the door he had a massive bag of baby girls clothes! His daughter had a baby last christmas and has either grown out of them or didn;t wear them at all. Some of them are really good makes and still have the labels so she didn;t even wear them. Can;t wait to show Dd when she comes. Some fellow she knows also brought a big bag for her and it had the most beutiful dresses in like the one in the angel picture that were never worn that his daughter didn;t use! It is amazing the provition of God!

Well Dh and I just washed the Dogs -

Actually it was more like the Dogs washed us! House is like a flood hit it now!

I have managed to get myself a chest infection I think as my Asthma is playing up and I have a deal of fluid biuld up on my lungs again which is a pain in more ways than one as it is painful to breath today. Darn thing always gets me in the end!

Dad phoned last night he is in a bit of a worry over my mum who is failing a bit but they are so many miles away there is little I can do but try today to get hold of my sister.
So I better away to see if I can.

Anyhow you all enjoy your Day -

Good Morning, its a beautiful morning in Illinois, but it would be if it was stormy like crazy. Our little GS who is just 6 weeks got to come home from the hospital in St. Louis after being there for 3 days with a virus and pneumonia. X-ray showed his heart might be enlarged but since you can't make a baby take a deep breath and hold it, they said not to panic. Sure. But the echocardiogram came back perfect as did all the other tests they did and God is good. The two girls stayed with us, and the five year old wore me out. I love her to pieces, but I won't lie and say I wasn't DEELIGHTED to see her folks and that baby pull in the drive last night!!!!

No coffee this morning, hot tea and its plain ole' Lipton and good. Having a lot of stomach trouble lately and wondered if maybe the coffee might have something to do with it.

Everyone have a wonderful, healthy, happy blessed day~~

Good Morning, chicken friends.

Today my coffee is perfect, as I finally remembered to bring a scoop to work so I could measure instead of just trying to pour some into the filter and guest-imate when it looked like the right amount.

Gorgeous grand-baby pictures, Rancher! I can't wait till my EE and OE start laying colored eggs. And in the spring I think I'll hatch out some Ameraucana's for the blue eggs, as that was what I was trying to find in the first place when I bought my first chickens!
Speaking of first eggs, Math Ace - how old were your Marans when they started laying? Mine seems like she is taking FOREVER to lay. I think she is now almost 25 weeks. Her face is getting a little redder, but no squating yet.

Oesdog - I know it's draining to care for someone who is so reliant on you for even basic needs. I did it for a short while, along with taking care of my newborn son, and I felt like I was stretched so thin I wasn't doing a good job of taking care of anyone, including myself. So hang in there and enjoy your grand-daughter today. Free bags of clothes are so much fun to go through - better than Christmas!

Well, today I am officially no longer in my "early" 30s, although I guess I haven't been that for a couple of years. I'm over half-way to 40 now. Funny how I don't feel much older than I did just out of college. Surely there is some type of math formula to calculate age that is similar to how we do chicken math. Like, subtract how old your child is because they keep you young, as well as the number of pets you have, because those do to. So I would be: 36 - 3 = 33 - 8 = 25, Yep, still feel 25!! Most days, anyway.
