Coffee's ready...

So, I had a breakfast bar - - chocolate almond - - around 3 hours ago ( 6:00 a.m.) . I am contemplating moving onto lunch within the hour. HOT Dogs - - FAT FREE - - and whole wheat LITE bread.

Then off to my college class for a couple of hours.

Tomorrow - - I am going to JOANNS!

Some of you may not know what JOANNs is - it is a craft store that specializes in SEWING with lots of material in the store. This weekend they have patterns on sale for .99 each.

LOVE to be in that store. HOWEVER, I can't seem to squeeze out enough time to even do my own mending, forget sewing JUST for the FUN of it

Meatballs - yum - !!!!!!!!
I got two slices of Toast on the run with some strewberry jam on top!
Now its near 2pm and still no lunch!

Dh is in bed and doesn;t feel too good. He is very grey today - I really think he has overdone himself working on the camper although he enjoyed himself a lot. I guess now we will pay for that. -
I just fed Jessica and she is gurggling away - and growing like mad!!!!!!

I am tired but something got me cleaning like crazy - I ended up stripping down the Range and taking off all those fiddly bits from the ovens to scrub!!!!!!!
Then Dh put a loaf on to cook and so the whole house smells of fresh baked bread.

Glad your back to work Chicks and I am so glad your boy was good for school today. You will catch up - !!! well actually no there is always something else to do isn;t there???!!! Oh I am soooo excited about the new chicks being hatched. That was such an awful dream???

Life rocks today.

It started with me getting up

i hate getting up.
th.gif

BUT after that life got better.

Mom left to take my brother to a track meet. So i was in charge. Which meant i could go hang out in the coop without a parent yelling at me or nagging.
woot.gif

I took my little brothers out and we let the chickens out into the yard and we chased them and cuddled them and fed them and gathered the eggs.

And i learned that my youngest brother, the two year old, is a natural chickenist. The birds LOVE him. he picked them up, and they perched on his shoulders and head and he laughed and laughed. It was adorable!

And my rooster took a dump on my little brothers pants.

And my three little silkie babies decided that they love crawling up my skirt.

So now im happy.

Sound like your a great child minder!!!!!!!! You have lovely little brothers and a great heart for caring and for chickens!!!!!!

Oesdog - keep it up!!!!!!!

Oesdog, hope your hubby is feeling better tonight?? I am surprised you have enough hours in the day to do everything you do!

Tanichca, you sound like you had a really good time today with your chickens and your siblings!

Mathace, hope you have fun at Joanns!!

Tartannik - I got God to lengthen the days in Ireland don;t you know we get two extra hours here?
DH is not at all well - I think the heart is playing up again as he comes out in cold sweats and goes all grey and very tired. He got it checked a while back with the cardiologist and he thought the angeoplasty was fine but DH isn;t fine so something is very wrong somewhere? Anyhow I know he is using more and more GTN. I think its sadly Ironic that I used to transfer cardiac patients!!!!! Now I have one of my own!!!! Worst thing about it is all my training is about 4 yrs out of date now and I don;t have half the stuff in my crash bag I used to keep. Its kind of like a first aid bag now it is so depleited. If DH had a heart attack I couldn;t do a lot here anyhow - guess I would need the jump leads from the car battery!!! -

As for the incubator , i can't find a burner and have posted on CL all over the state or will have soon. It takes time to post the pics. Iv'e have two responses one telling me to "google" it. Duh! I can find pages of old Ads for sale but no instructions or parts. It's really quite a simple incubator that you buy and put together your self. Kind of like a kit. It came with a strange looking thermometer but really doesn't give a good picture of it. Which of course I don't have. I have pages of instuctions on how to put it together but none on how to make it work.

I suppose I can try to repair the brooders after rewiring them and plugging them outdoors to see if they work right. They really are for large quantities of chicks. Not something I would have, but they would be worth more if they worked. Right?

I have a Genesis 1588 so I would use that to hatch eggs. It's worked fine both times. The antique could hold about 70-80 eggs. Whoa baby! Hatching time must look like pop corn popping.

Good Morning, and what a Good one it is! I have peeping! Lots of peeping this morning!

: jumpy: jumpy If I hadn't already taken two days off this week, I would have stayed home to keep an eye on her. I didn't want to lift her up, and I couldn't see anything from the sides, but she did keep shifting her weight and sort of lifting up a bit. It is going to be very hard to focus on work today. I have a meeting at noon that I am really hoping will let out early so I can get back. At least my BF does not work on Friday, so between his appointment and his school work (he is going to school part time to finsih his masters), he will be checking on them. He's like the chicken social worker today!
gig.gif
I got out the heat lamp and told him to make sure she doesn't peck them, and grab them away if she does!

Rancher -that does sound like quite a project, but wow - you could go into buisness with an incubator that big! I bet once it is together you could figure out how to make it work. Are there any older chicken farmers around? I was never involved in setting or using the incubator a the science museum, unfortunately. My job was just to monitor the kiddies while they petted and held the baby chicks, and makes sure nobody squashed one. They had the big incubator like that set up behind glass so the kids could see the eggs hatch, and it ran 24/7.

Oesdog - I hope your husband is better. It's so hard to see someone you love in pain or discomfort. I feel for you.

MathAce - Did you have fun at JoAnn's? My Mom got back from Italy and on the same day she picked my son up for me at school (She misses him a lot when they are gone), so I went to Michaels and got some baskets and frames to work on the organizing and decorating I've been doing. Great sales, but one of the frames won't work for the print I bought it for, so I'll have to go back tomorrow. But I never mind a trip to Michaels!

Have a good one, everybody! Send my Sunshine your good Mama vibes so!
