Cold Wet Chickens help

Your chickens need a dry place to roost tonight, if you don't have such a place I saw the most clever solution to cold subzero weather, which would work for you. Someone put their chickens in a small tent in the garage over night with shavings, all I could do was think how clever and chuckle!

How cold is too cold for wet chickens from the rain at night?
As long as the coop is dry and well ventilated and temp stays above freezing, they'll be fine.
Mine did that once. They stayed out in blowing rain all day with temps in the low 40s. Went to roost soaking wet. Temp dipped into mid 30s overnight. They came out of the coop dry, fluffy and looking great!

Never forget the first time my birds looked like the proverbial 'drowned rats' on the roost,
I stuck my hand under the outer feathers and the under feathers and skin was nice and dry and warm. Never worried about it again...even when hen was pecking ice drops off cockbirds back one night this winter.
